A major difference between a private good and a public good is that private goods:

are often produced in efficient quantities by the market while public goods generally are not.

are rival in consumption, public goods are not.

are excludable, public goods are not.

All of the answers are correct.

I thought that private goods were excludable and public goods were not but that was wrong, anyone know what is correct?

If you look at the chart that was given in class, all of those fit the chart and make sense. So the answer would be all the answers are correct. So technically you aren't wrong you just didn't include all the answers.
