! Attempts to manipulate Q&A scores ! [closed]

In the last hour or so, there has been a lot of suspicious activities on the Q&A.

A couple of students are clearly asking and posting quick questions while up voting one anothers' questions and answer (as well as accepting each others' answer) in the sole goal of raising their score.

This is goes against the spirit of the Q&A and is unfair to students who have worked honestly on the Q&A throughout the whole semester.

It is also a blatant violation of the students Honor Pledge, and I strongly invite these students to re-read the last section of the syllabus that specifically addresses how the Honor Pledge extends to the Q&A. I copied this section at the end of this announcement for these students convenience.

Before taking any further actions, I want to give these students an opportunity to redeem themselves. I understand that this is a stressful time and that you may be looking for any opportunity to improve your grade. You may have thought that it was "fair game" to manipulate the Q&A scores to that end.

It is not.

I firmly encourage you to quickly go back on the Q&A and undo these artificial questions, answers and upvotes (you can, for example, undo any of your upvotes by re-clicking the "up" arrow after you upvoted a question).

From the Syllabus:

The Honor Pledge: To enhance the learning environment at Utah State University and to develop student academic integrity, each student agrees to the following Honor Pledge: "I pledge, on my honor, to conduct myself with the foremost level of academic integrity." A student who lives by the Honor Pledge is a student who does more than not cheat, falsify, or plagiarize. A student who lives by the Honor Pledge:

[...]

Importantly, this also applies to your behavior on the Q&A. You are asked to treat your fellow students on the Q&A with the utmost respect and to behave there in a constructive way that fosters everyone’s learning. Behaving with academic integrity on the Q&A also implies voting based on your honest appreciation of questions and answers, and not based on whether the question or answer is posted by a friend of yours.
